Southeast Minnesota received approximately 3/10 of an inch of rain during the storm last night. The South Branch of the Root river has increased its flow by approximately 400 cfs and is slightly off color. the smaller creeks fared much better. They are clearing quickly and should be back to pre-storm levels in short order.

As of September 15th, all southeast Minnesota streams are catch and release until October 15th. On the 15th of October all streams will close to fishing with the exceptions of streams with in the boundaries of the following state parks: Beaver Creek Valley, Forestville, and Whitewater. They are also open within the city limits of Preston, Chatfield, Lanesboro, Rushford, and Spring Valley.
The last several days have really cleared up the streams in the area. The flows are quite good along with great clarity on the smaller streams. The larger rivers are still a bit off color but are clearing fast.
