STREAM CONDITIONS AND BLOG
A fresh blanket of snow has covered the Minnesota Driftless Area leaving us with slightly cooler temps allowing streams to clear and are currently running in tremendous shape. A little more ice breaking from fly rod guides this weekend but incredible fishing was the reward. Pink Squirrels and orange Scuds are working well in runs and riffle areas; whereas BH Woolly Buggers (Black with a little green flash) as well as Leech patterns are still doing the trick in the deeper, slower pools. Temperatures are forecasted to fall off some for the coming week but streams should remain very fishable!
Melvin Hayner is the owner of The Driftless Fly Fishing Company in Preston, Mn. He has been fishing this area for over 23 years and guiding here for over a decade. Some reports will be from other reliable sources around the Driftless area. Thanks guys.
