STREAM CONDITIONS AND BLOG
With new regulations in place, there is no reason to store those fly rods until after the first of the year any longer. The trout waters within the three state parks located here in SE Minnesota (Forrestville, Whitewater & Beaver Creek) remain open year round. Fall can be a very productive time on the water so be sure to stock up on streamers and Wooly Buggers as these are patterns that mimic the larger protein packed prey that trout seek during the spawn and the timeframe leading up to the winter months. I have had particular great success as of late on black BH Wooly Buggers with a little flash. Check out the online store of The Driftless Fly Fishing Company, http://www.minnesotaflyfishing.com/, and stock up. Also, don't forget the Holidays are right around the corner so give someone special in your life a guided fly fishing trip for Christmas or just treat yourself - you deserve it :-)
Here are a few nice Browns caught recently in the state parks here in SE Minnesota
