Tomorrow, October 15, is the last day of catch and release for most streams in SE Minnesota in 2014. Some heavy rain has clouded the main stems but tributaries are very fishable. Don't forget the new regulations allow catch and release artificials only, fishing in all three state parks in SE Minnesota all year! Forestville 9 miles from the shop should be uncrowded and aggressive pre-spawn fish this weekend! Whitewater State park has many miles of great water and Beaver Creek State Park is true spring creek fishing at it's finest! Weather looks great!

The Minnesota catch & release trout season closes next week (October 15th), so be sure to get out before then and enjoy the absolutely gorgeous weather that is forecasted along with what I would describe as superb fishing. The warm, sunny autumn afternoons we have been experiencing has the "hopper" action going strong once again along with some real nice Blue Wing Olive hatches. Stream conditions are excellent and the trout are feeding well on the surface with great results being produced with Dave's Hopper patterns, BWO's and Parachute Adams dry flies.
