STREAM CONDITIONS AND BLOG
SE Minnesota extended season continues to produce nice fish. I fished all three state parks in the three weeks starting with the closest in Forestville. The South Branch was running well with clear conditions. Canfield Creek was awesome with some rising fish and midges hatching. Took this fish on a bead head Pheasant Tail (14) at the confluence on November 1st! Next it was on the Beaver Creek with my son and fly fishing friend and prodigy Brian. The creek was as clear as the fall air and stealth was the key to success. Long 6X leaders and slow approach produced a few nice fish again on the bead head Pheasant tails and Copper Johns. Whitewater State Park was beautiful and the nice weather brought out some hikers and other anglers. The Trout Run Trail was easy walking and spotted a bunch of trout. Didn't catch any but the fall colors and walk made me not really care. Just great to be out on the streams this time of year. WOW
