Even though we have been catching (and releasing) trout for a while the traditional trout opening weekend holds a special place in many hearts. The caddis are coming, the blue winged olives are hatching, the water is clearing. Its a great time to be in The Driftless area. Wild flowers and the woods greening up. Morel mushrooms and trout. Turkeys are calling. What could be better? Nuthin' Living the dream in The Driftless. Stop by and share the pics and stories at the fly shop. See ya on the stream-Mel

Throwing conehead streamers brought out a few big boys. The Baby Brown was the go to fly for some nice meat eating trout last weekend. Conditons were clear with good flows. Getting some torrential rain now so hope for clearing this weekend. Some Blue Winged Olives in the air but did not spot any takers. Stay tuned 2015 season underway in SE Minnesota! Go to the Facebook page for the video. Could not figure out how to post it here. This is last October.
