We've enjoyed some very mild temps as of late here in SE Minnesota and with a gradual snow melt it has kept the streams in excellent condition. Patterns such as a purple collared Zebra midge pattern, the Pink Squirrel and the black BH Woolly Bugger remain effective.

We have had a few cold snaps as of late here in SE Minnesota but by watching the weather forecast and planning ahead just a little, one can still get out on the streams on a fairly regular basis. I have been following this protocol and have had some incredibly productive outings. Looking at the weather for the next week, it appears as though we are in for a warm up so now is the time to not only plan your visit to the Driftless Fly Fishing Company fly shop in Preston, MN but your time on the water as well! While at the shop, ask what the "hot" flies are and check out the new Orvis gear or book a guided fly fishing trip for the Spring - it's right around the corner!
