STREAM CONDITIONS AND BLOG
The beauty, wonder and mystery of the trout streams here in the Driftless Area of SE Minnesota never ceases to amaze, motivate or inspire me. One never knows what is lurking in the shadows within any pool, run or riffle. That ever pending question was answered for me this morning, for in the undercut bank of the shaded edge of one particular stream a 20" male Brown had his breakfast briefly interrupted when he sipped in my Parachute Adams dry fly. He was a worthy adversary and fought gallantly as he shook his head aggressively and dove relentlessly to the depths of the pool seeking the safety of a tangled, submerged deadfall. I was fortunate enough to safely guide him to the net and after a quick couple of photos he was released unharmed to fight another day. He will surely make another trout angler's heart rate increase and offer him/her fond memories to recall with others, just like I'm doing now.
